What exactly does RCT Stevedoring do?

RCT Stevedoring specialises in loading, unloading and storing goods. We provide solutions for cargo by sea, inland navigation, road transport and containers, as well as transport, packaging and logistics services.

Where is RCT Stevedoring located?

Our terminal is located at Boomsesteenweg 180, 2830 Willebroek (Antwerp). Thanks to our location on the Brussels–Scheldt Canal and close to the A12, we are easily accessible for both vessels and trucks – a strategic site with direct connections to the European inland‑waterway and road networks.

Who are your clients?

We primarily work with international and national freight forwarders, shippers, shipping companies and industrial firms using multimodal logistics. Thanks to our flexible approach and flat organisational structure, we can react quickly and respond to specific needs. We actively think along and seek pragmatic, workable logistics solutions regardless of the complexity or scale of the assignment.

What is the difference between the large port operators and RCT Stevedoring?

The main difference lies in scale, approach and customer orientation. Large terminals often apply standard procedures, while RCT chooses a personal and flexible approach. We are small enough to respond rapidly and large enough to execute complex multimodal projects professionally. Clients appreciate our direct communication, short decision‑making lines and the willingness to go that extra mile. With us, you are not just a dossier number — you are a partner.

What is the mission of RCT Stevedoring?

Our mission is to provide innovative and high‑quality logistics services that align seamlessly with our clients’ needs. Through our expertise and client‑centric service we enable companies to focus fully on their core activities.

Which types of goods can you handle?

RCT Stevedoring handles a wide range of goods, including raw materials for the steel industry (pig iron, FeSi, FeMn, SiMn, FeCr), base metals (aluminium, lead, zinc, copper, tin), logs (2 to 12 metres), sawn timber, OSB‑boards, minerals, reinforced concrete and nets, steel products (plates, slabs, pipes, billets, wire rods and coils up to 30 tonnes), project cargo and bulk goods in big bags.

Which types of vessels can you handle?

We handle vessels up to 10,000 tonnes at our 350‑metre long quay with a depth of 7 metres, both for loading and unloading. Thanks to this infrastructure we are perfectly equipped to handle sea‑ and inland vessels with bulk, break‑bulk or project cargo. Our location on the Brussels–Scheldt Canal guarantees seamless connectivity to the hinterland via water, road and rail.

Which types of handling cranes do you have?

We operate a modern and versatile machine fleet tailored to diverse cargo. Our largest crane is a Mantsinen 300, with a capacity of 40 tonnes and a reach of 32 metres. Additionally, we deploy a Multidocker (20 tonnes, 28‑metre reach) and Liebherr cranes (316‑924) for gentle loading of bulk into tip‑wagons. In this way we treat each cargo safely, efficiently and to measure.

Do you also provide warehousing/storage?

Yes, we offer 100,000 m² of storage space – of which 32,000 m² is covered – for indoor and outdoor storage of goods, in bulk, big bags, bundles or on pallets. We store for short or long term, and provide separate or shared storage as required. Even heavy or valuable project cargo is welcome until shipment.

Do you use a WMS?

Yes, we use a professional Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor all goods flows in real time. This guarantees transparent inventory management, precise registration and reporting tailored to your logistics and administrative requirements.

What is a customs warehouse and what are the benefits?

A customs warehouse is an authorised storage facility where you can temporarily store goods from outside the EU without immediate payment of import duties or VAT. This offers greater financial breathing space and flexibility in your logistics planning. RCT has such a customs warehouse and takes care of the full administrative processing.

Which additional services does RCT Stevedoring provide?

In addition to loading, unloading and storage, we provide a wide range of complementary services:

  • Temporary storage in a customs or VAT warehouse
  • Complete customs administration and fiscal representation
  • Transport by road or water via our reliable logistics partners
  • Tailor‑made packaging: filling, palletising, marking, securing cargo
  • Container cleaning and supply of drums or kiln‑dried timber
All services are executed with attention to safety, speed and accuracy.
What is an EUR.1 certificate and what are phytosanitary documents?

An EUR.1 certificate demonstrates that your goods are of preferential origin (e.g., from the EU) and entitles you to reduced or zero import duties when exporting to countries with a trade agreement.
Phytosanitary documents are required when exporting plant products, timber or packaging and certify that the goods are free from harmful organisms.
RCT Stevedoring prepares and handles both documents for you so that your export proceeds smoothly and correctly.

Which value‑added services do you offer?

We offer, among other things:

  • Packaging of bulk cargo into big bags, drums or sacks
  • Re‑packaging or opening goods for bulk loading
  • Palletising (including provision of pallets)
  • Securing cargo in containers or ship holds
  • Marking goods or packaging
  • Supply of kiln‑dried timber, drums (50‑400 litres)
  • Container cleaning and sample taking

Every service is carried out with an eye for detail and in accordance with each client’s specific requirements.

Do you also offer transport services?

Yes, we work together with fixed, reliable transport partners for both road and water transport. This allows us to coordinate the entire pre‑ and post‑transport for you, aligned with your planning and type of goods.

What are the cut‑off times for deliveries or pickups?

Deliveries and pickups are possible Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 17:00. Exceptions may be arranged in consultation. Please always contact our planning department in advance.

How does the delivery of goods proceed?

Goods delivery always takes place by appointment, in coordination with our planning department. We provide clear instructions for labelling, packaging or documentation, and implement strict safety procedures on arrival.

Why are you ISPS‑certified?

RCT Stevedoring is ISPS‑certified (BEWLB0003) in order to comply with international safety standards for ports and terminals. The ISPS code provides a framework for protecting vessels and port facilities against sabotage or unauthorised access. We apply strict access controls, CCTV monitoring and safety procedures for staff, visitors and carriers.

What is an AEO certificate and why is it important?

RCT Stevedoring is AEO‑certified (BEAEOF0000066GDH), which stands for “Authorised Economic Operator”. This certificate demonstrates that we are a safe and reliable link in the international logistics chain.
